I published a story a few weeks ago about accounts that clap on several articles at the same time without reading them. This cheap tactic is all about trying to attract attention to get reads.
Unfortunately, it can kill your read ratio and impact earnings, and it happened again today.
Well, here is a screenshot of the account if anyone is curious.
Lucid Reality is a “Friend of Medium” and it’s an account that’s been around for a long time. It’s also an account that only uses AI to create articles without any disclosures. I used to read their content and support them before I realized everything was created by AI.
Also, do you see the account that is imitating Lea Bardot? That’s another fake account that’s trying to get me to respond to them on Telegram. Isn’t Medium a great place to be? 😅
My New Strategy
I plan on calling out anyone doing these cheap tactics from now on. If they want attention, I’m more than happy to write an article about them and warn others.
