Shopping online is a common practice for countless people across the world. Online shopping is highly convenient, as you can search for any item with only a few clicks of a button. Many websites offer free shipping, and you only have to wait a few days for a shipment to arrive on your doorsteps. While shopping online provides many benefits, it can also be dangerous. Cybercriminals continually devise new schemes each day to gain access to your data and login creditionals. Understanding how to avoid these scams is critical in keeping your information safe.

Here are a few simple tips that can keep you protected while shopping on the internet.

Check Your Statements Often
One of the best ways to stay proactive is always to keep a close watch on your financial statements. Instead of waiting for the bill to come near the end of the month, it is much safer to look at your statement every few days. You can view your statement online and immediately identify any suspicious activity. Reaching out to your bank or credit card company as soon as possible is critical in limiting these fraudulent charges while also giving you the chance to get your money back before these cybercriminals can cause even more damage.

Avoid Unknown Websites
Giving out your credit card information to an unknown site is never a good idea…
