I hate it when publications make changes to my articles and introduce errors. If you are going to be an editor, you should at least be competent!

I also hate waiting around and never knowing when I will get my article published.

One of the reasons I am an editor at a lot of publications is that I can publish my own stuff without worrying about mistakes, and I don't have to wait.

If it makes you feel any better, I've never been boosted either.
