I try to respond to most comments. I'll usually just clap if someone says "nice article." If they leave multiple comments, I'll most likely just reply to one unless they are all questions.

The reason I do this is because of the 100 comment limit that counts replies to your own articles. It's very easy to reach the limit if you also read 20-25 articles on here each day.

Some people never reply to comments and they are crazy because they are missing out on building relationships. They are not writing on Medium for free, which means they are costing themselves a lot of money because most people won't even bother to read them.

Even the well-known writers would do much better if they bothered to respond to comments. They are still using Medium like it worked before August 2023, where reading time matttered the most and engagement or comments didn't have much of an impact.
