I'm no expert, but I'm guessing it will usually take a few months to build any momentum with paid subscriptions. Even then, still no guarantee you will get paid subscribers.

I do like how articles get a lot more views on Substack compared to Medium, so I think it has potential over the long term.

Honestly, I just try to keep my writing fun because I would not have the motivation to spend time and effort writing about serious topics.
