One of the reasons I joined is to help support others. I understand that not everyone can make the upgrade.

However, I don't think the previous system of only charging $5 was sustainable. Most of the writers who were here back in 2020 are no longer using Medium because it wasn't worth all the hard work to make a few cents or a couple of dollars for an article.
