It's hard to figure out because I probably engage a lot more than most people, but I've never been suspended or put into the spam filter.

Sometimes, I wonder if people get put into the spam filter because they are speed reading or leaving too many comments on articles in a short amount of time, which would look like spam to a computer that's monitoring activity.
