That's the biggest problem on Medium. Some writers act like if you just write "high-quality" and engaging content the views will happen but that's no guarantee.

Distribution is much better on Substack, but the views can be misleading because it counts multiple views from the same person or if you look at your own article.

I forgot where it's at in the stats but you can find it where it breaks everything down and you can see how many times someone viewed an article.
