Deep in the woods where no one dares to go,
I wandered far, driven by a thirst to know.
Rumors had spread of a creature tall and grand,
A mythic being that roamed this forest land.
Armed with a camera and courage on my side,
Into the forest’s dark corners I did slide.
Leaves crunched below and branches scraped my face,
Every snapped twig seemed to quicken my pace.
The night was thick, but my flashlight cut the gloom,
While unseen owls announced another’s doom.
Then I saw it — footprints, large and undefined,
Evidence that something big had been maligned.
Adrenaline surged, every sense was keen,
As I followed tracks that few had ever seen.
Deeper still into the forest’s pitch-black heart,
I found a clearing where the dense trees did part.
Moonlight revealed a shape in the clearing’s midst,
A hulking figure in the fog and mist.
Furry and large, it stood upright, so grand —
The elusive Bigfoot, just as rumors planned.
I lifted my camera, ready to claim my fame,
But froze when the creature called me by my name.
“Welcome,” it growled, its voice as dark as sin,
“My lonely vigil’s done, your watch begins.”
In terror, I felt my bones and muscles shift,
My form contorted in an agonizing lift.
Then I understood, my dread turning to fright,
The legend of Bigfoot would continue this night.
For the creature before me started to fade away,
Leaving me alone, with my fur turning a silver-gray.
Now I roam the forest, a legend, tall and grand,
Forever a part of this eerie, haunted land.
