Want to Know the Value of My Read? The Results Are In!

Keep your expectations low….

I did a little experiment a couple of days ago to figure out the value of my reads and engagement.

I asked if anyone wanted to let me read one of their older articles, and they would tell me how much money they earned from me reading, highlighting, and commenting on the article.

What Are the Results?

I haven’t heard back from everyone, but the ones that did respond told me that they earned not one, not two, but three cents! I also had someone let me know today that I earned them two cents, which means it’s only getting lower!

Obviously, it’s probably not in my best interests to share these results if you think you are going to get rich from me reading your content simply because I have a yellow badge next to my profile.

On the other hand, it can be beneficial in letting spammers know that it’s not worth faking engagement or clapping on five of my articles in a row. (Who am I kidding? They don’t even bother to read!)

Also, everyone who’s reported back to me has either made me two or three cents, but I did earn 33 cents from Lea Bardot!

My Thoughts on the Experiment
