Will The Winds of Winter Ever Arrive?
We wait…and we wait….and we wait…and we wait…
The Song of Ice and Fire remains one of my favorite book series of all time. I started reading the books after watching a few episodes of Game of Thrones on HBO.
Those few episodes were enough to get me hooked on the entire world of Westeros. I finished reading all five books way back in 2015 and I eagerly waited for The Winds of Winter to arrive.
Unfortunately, that wait continues to this day.
It was common for me to check forums and look for any clues about the book's release date. I always thought the book was nearly finished, and it would be available in six months. Well, the wait continues and there is no end in sight.
I hope one day George R.R. Martin will be able to complete the book. I’m not getting my hopes up because it’s been forever and it’s not even the last book of the series.
The ever-expanding number of characters and different plot points only grew much bigger in the last book. I think he is having a difficult time trying to tie everything together.
Maybe a meteorite can slam into Westeros and wipe out all of the unimportant characters bogging things down?
One day, I hope to have The Winds of Winter in my hand…Until then, just remember that “Winter is Coming.”
